Criminal Investigations / Detectives Division

The Columbia Police Department Criminal Investigations Division is manned by Lieutenant Michelle Jones and 6 detectives.
The Detectives investigate crimes including Murder, Rape, Robbery, Aggravated Assaults, Burglaries, Larcenies, Auto Thefts, Embezzlement & Fraud, and Forgery & Counterfeiting. Over 1,500 cases a year are investigated and prosecuted by the detectives. Larcenies (thefts) make up the major portion of the work load.
