Planning Commission

The Planning Commission advises Columbia City Council on future growth patterns and development issues that affect the city. The Commission reviews and makes recommendations to Council on Comprehensive Plan items, redevelopment plans, changes in development regulations, requests to rezone properties, annexations, and reviews preliminary site plans, group housing plans, and subdivisions.

***UPDATES***

1) City Council adopted new fee schedules for Planning & Engineering effective April 13, 2023.

2) Applications for Planning Commission, Design Review, and BZA may now be submitted online. Please read the guide to submitting online applications for development review.

3) The Planning Commission will no longer hold a study session. All items referred to Planning Commission by the Development Review Committee ("Technical") will be heard at the regularly scheduled Planning Commission meeting, typically on the second Wednesday of the month.
