“I have always been proud of Columbia’s Police Department. Now given the opportunity to lead as Chief, I will continue to move forward the quality of service that Columbia has come to expect from CPD. The concept of Community Policing has always been one of my priorities, however; I will add the expansion of CPD’s understanding and implementation of true Community Care Taking along with our continued success with focused enforcement,” said Police Chief Jeremy Alsup. Alsup went on to say, “I am well aware that I am assuming command in uncertain times but one thing everyone can be certain of is the fact that the Columbia Police Department remains a constant that our community can rely on to respond and provide the highest quality police services to our citizens and visitors.”
